Alice was up on the roof, avoiding the pools, and training with Pele. It was the kind of don't-fall-off-of-the-roof training, for balance and perfection. Essentially, you wound yourself up like a pretzel, balanced on the very edge of the roof, and meditated. Pele had done this everywhere, with most of her charmers, for days on end. It required skill. It required flexibility. It required strength. It required willpower. It required patience, which Alice was running out of shortly.
After her third near-fall, Alice exploded. "What the fuck is this shit? I don't -we don't have time to sit here for three days and meditate. I mean, shit." She straightened herself, and jumped into the borders of the rooftop. "Pele, you amaze me sometimes."
Pele drifted down to right behind Alice, speaking in a firm tone. "I expect you to be able to do this for as long as possible. Patience is incredibly important, Alice. You'll need it."
Alice snorted, a small flame erupting from her nostrils. "Patience is stupid. I'd rather act fast that know how to wait." Pele was about to say something else, but Alice spoke again. "Transform. I think someone's coming up here, and I don't want people seeing your true form."
"..." Pele sighed, and transformed. In a burst of flame, she evolved into a phoenix, and then flew to Alice's shoulder.
"So, who's decided to visit?" Alice threw herself on a lounge chair to hide her fear of the water, and waited for the person to respond.

Jugan with thrown through the door to the roof, a smirk plastered as he touched down with his left hand and flipped to a standing position, with Jilo bursting through right after him. "My turn!" As soon as the Chamer's feet touched the floor, he shot forward, sword flaring to life in his hand. In an instant, Jugan had passed the young dragon. Jilo roared and fell to the ground. Worried, the boy ran back to his Contract, only to have a thick, scaled tail knock him into the water, causing a massive splash.
Jugan pulled himself out of the water, and brushed the water and hair from his eyes. "Very funny, Jilo." The Chamer made a sour face at the dragon, who was busy snickering. It was then that Jugan noticed Alice. He flashed a grin and a peace sign at the girl. "What's up, gorgeous?" He asked playfully, splashing a miniscule amount of water at her.

Alice scowled at Jugan and Jilo's entrance; it was flashy and showy and douchebaggety. When he landed in the pool, Alice narrowly avoided being soaked. However, when Jugan splashed her, the places where the water landed turned to steam. "... Dickhead." Alice stood up and stretched; Pele had long ago flown off to... somewhere else; Alice really could have cared less. But right now, she had to deal with the person in front of her.
"So what are you doing up here, Red? You and your lizard seem to be in a bit of an argument, or is it just that whole testosterone thing?" Alice walked to the edge of the water and looked Jugan straight in the eyes, a slight scowl still on her face, which, hey, for her was like a huge grin. She didn't like that she was three inches shorter than this dope; it was rather frustrating, and it made her palms heat up, itching to release some fire punches.

"Nah, nothing like that. Me and Jilo were just having some friendly sparring." Jugan grinned and pulled himself out of the water, before peeling off his dripping clothes. "Jilo? A little heat please?" Jugan asked, before Jilo literally incinerated his shirt. Jugan stared at the ashes, then quickly rebuttoned his pants. "On second thought, my clothes aren't that wet. I can deal." Jugan patted the dragon on his drooping head, as he made a mental note to only ask Jilo for precision flames later.
"So, what're you up to all the way up here? And where's Pele? Jilo always enjoys the company of another fire spirit." Jugan paused for a moment. "Even if he can't take a human form yet, and he doesn't have the slightest grasp of any human language." ... This raised a good question. "Jilo? How do we even talk, anyway? I don't speak dragon and you don't speak my language..."
The dragon shrugged and grumbled something in draconic. "Hmm, I suppose that does make sense." Jugan said in response, pensively. With that, Jugan picked Alice up, sat down in the lounging chair, and plopped her into his lap. "So, I repeat. What's a beautiful girl like you doing up here all by your lonesome?" [/size]

Alice nodded at Jugan's response to her question. "So it's testosterone, that whole male thing which commands you to fight every ten minutes. Lovely." Alice raised an eyebrow when Jugan began stripping, and she crossed her arms. So he can't even heat his own body? Man, even though we're both contracted to fire spirits, our respective powers change... Alice stared at the dragon skin on Jugan's chest for a minute before blinking and scowling some more.
"Jilo? How do we even talk..." Alice listened to the whole 'conversation' between charmer and contract, before she put in her own input. "Tch, you're such a dumbass. It's been what, three years, and you've never realized that you can understand your spirit even without the language barrier? I mean- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" Alice's would-be rant was interrupted by the, ah, rather unexpected circumstance she was now in. I mean, hey, the author would have no problem being randomly swooped up by a shirtless redhead, but this is Alice, so she does have a problem. A big one.
As soon as Jugan touched Alice, she began superheating her body. It was a reflex, and by the time Jugan sat down, she would have been hot enough to give third degree burns to most charmers. Alice was concentrating so hard on superheating her body faster than normal that she didn't answer Jugan's question; nor did she notice Pele flying back.
The phoenix landed on the edge of the rooftop, then transformed into her human guise. The girl smiled at Jilo, petting him on the nose. "Aw, hello Jilo. And how are you doing?" She looked over at the other two, and she shortly began to crack up.
Alice jumped off of Jugan immediately and marched up to Pele. "Oh, shut up, you great birdbrain. It was entirely this douchebag's fault." She pointed at Jugan, somewhere behind her, and huffed as she stalked off. Pele merely grinned at her back.

Jugan grinned as Alice got away from him and Pele arrived. "She got away, again." Jugan seemingly shrugged off the heat like it was nothing. "Also, just like you can manipulate heat and fire-" Jugan motioned to Jilo, who fired a gout of draconic flame. "I happen to be highly resistant to it." Jugan tapped the scales for emphasis.
At Pele's pet, Jilo perked up. "Settle down, lover boy. You can't even change your shape yet." At Jugan's comment, Jilo's face seemingly turned into the lizard equivalent to the 'B|' face, and he shot Jugan into the pool with a massive burst of fire.
Jugan climbed back out, a sour look on his face. "So, that's how it's gonna be, huh?" With that, he retrieved the now soggy blade from his belt, and it crackled to life. ".... Nah. I'm good." And Jugan put the blade away, just as quickly as he had drawn it.
... Then Alice's insult hit him. "HEY! I'M NOT A DOUCHEBAG!" Jugan huffed and pouted, before clinging to Pele's arm. "Peleeeee! Alice is being mean to me again!" Before Jugan could say one more pitiful word, Jilo was pouting at the spirit's feet, an expression not unlike Jugan's on his snout. Unfortunately, the dragon's false tears only became steam, making it somewhat more comical.

Pele stared at Alice, feeling the obvious embarrassment and slight anger (well, slightly more than normal) at being caught in one of those awkward situations that her charmer was feeling. She picked up on Jugan's comment about her 'getting away', and Pele began to grow suspicious. Her eyes narrowed and her brain began to work it's motherly ways: from what she was seeing, feeling, and hearing, it seemed like there was a little sum-sum going on between the two. I'll have to keep an eye on them... She was distracted by, well, Alice.
"I am NOT being mean to you! Do you WANT to see me be mean? " It was a rather shrill voice, and Alice, hands on hips, walked straight over to Jugan. "YOU are just a WIMP!" She poked him in the chest, then kept on getting closer and closer to the edge of the building, poking Jugan with every 'you'. "YOU need to get thicker skin, if YOU can't handle a little teasing! YOU need to get over the fact that I am the way I am! YOU need to just... !" Alice's index finger was still embedded into Jugan's chest, right over his heart, and being up against the edge of the roof, this could very well turn out into a risky situation. Of couse, they were both contracted with fire/flight spirits, so maybe it wasn't as risky as, say, if an earth charmer was in this little scene. But. Back to the point. Alice's mind was contemplating whether to just push him off of the roof and get rid of him for the moment, or if she should just walk away and cool down. A scowl rose over her face, and she stalked off, mumbling. Somehow, she thought she made the wrong descision.
Pele, meanwhile, had been watching the entire time, somewhat happy at Alice's clear wrath. She reminded her of herself in the old days, so long ago. Pele wrapped her arms around Jilo's neck and leaned her head against him. Pele hummed, then spoke. "Well, isn't this something to watch, eh, Jilo?" She scratched her fingers against his neck without realizing it, the way she would most animals.

Jugan's grin never faded as Alice poked and proded him to the edge of the roof. "Aww, come on Alice! I was only kidding with you." And with that, the taller Charmer stepped around Alice. "If it makes you feel better, you can throw a fireball at me. I won't mind." Jugan turned around quickly and pulled Alice a step or two away from the edge. "Hey, you shouldn't stand so close. It's dangerous."
Jilo, while his Charmer was busy flirting, was getting an AWESOME neck scratching. One could hear the young dragon 'purr' if they listened closely enough. And, of course, this was enough for Jugan to catch on to. He crouched down in front of Jilo, grinning. "Aww, does da widdle kitty wike getting his neck scwatchdeded?" Jugan teased the spirit. In response, Jilo opened his mouth wide, without opening his eyes, and blasted Jugan with fire.
Jugan blinked, his face blackened. He touched two fingers to his tongue, and put out a tiny flame on his hair. "Well. I deserved that. Good dragon." Jugan petted Jilo on the snout and stood up. "Does anyone else want to punish me in some way, or can I start not hurting now?"

Alice heard Jugan say stupid things in the background; she wasn't really paying attention. She did hear his last comment, and she stomped over. "Yeah, here, feel this." She drove the point of her steel-toed boot into that very special area between the thighs, effectively releasing her anger in one blow. In fact, she felt a whole lot better.
Pele was watching Alice, giggling at her lovely little kick. "Oh, you are so cute when you're violent." She grinned, leaning against Jilo even more.
"No one cares, Pele." Alice was working out a crick in her shoulder, massaging the muscles. Pele scowled behind her, then smirked.
"Alice, darling, you really need to cool off." Pele snuck up behind Alice and, using just a bit extra strength, shoved Alice into the pool nearest them. Alice... did not enjoy it.
She burst out of the water, steaming all over. It was a sight to see. "YOU ARE SUCH A BITCH!" Pele nodded, bored; she was already back by Jilo, petting and scratching him.
"I was right, though; this is exactly what I'm talking about. You have no patience, no control. Honey, I'm teaching you to be-" Her eyes drifted to Jugan and Jilo; Pele frowned. "Well, you still need to learn to control your temper. Try the training again."
"Fuck off." Alice was busy; she was, well, stripping. She was frowning over her jacket; the leather would be hard to heat without burning. Hell, all of her clothes right now would be hard to not burn, what with her temper. Alice spread her hands over the jacket, applying just the tiniest bit of heat to it, warming it up, evaporating the water. Next, she removed her over-shirt, leaving just her white tank top and her bra on. The tank was soaked, and you could see her cute little pandas on the bra. However, on her arms, you could also see several scars. By her wrists were what looked like cut marks, but up near her shoulders were burn scars. It got worse near her back, like she had gotten blasted in the back with a fireball. Most of the scars were old, and the burns seemed like they were finally beginning to fade.
"Come on, dry faster... Aw, man." Alice accidentally singed the ends of her shirt in her wishing to hurry it up. Pele walked over, smug.
"Told you. Paaa~aatience." She 'coughed', and a wave of hot air blasted the rest of Alice dry. "Or you could learn to do that."
"... I hate you."
"I know~"
