Cain is lazy, and can be very evil. He does help some people, though; he has an evil history, but he has gotten better throughout time. Cain hates when people call him "Cain" from the Bible, even though that was actually him. As he points out to everyone, the Bible is not completely accurate, and left out some important details.

Basically, Cain had a father named Adam and a mother named Eve. The bible didn't screw them up too badly. He killed his brother, Abel. After that, he basically went away and did nothing. He hid in the shadows, not letting anyone know where he was or who he was. Cain never really came out of hiding until now, and no one, including him, even knows why.
